Statement earring

I just had to share these beauts with you. They were one of those accidental/perfect purchases you stumble upon whilst you are wondering the shops when you are supposed to be ‘window shopping’…oops.

20130824-213013.jpg

I absolutely love the green and gold combo. They are so fun and dressed up my simple tee perfectly! I also think they have quite a vintagey/ retro vibe. Perfection.

Love double denim

I am loving double denim looks at the moment. For me, being the shortest person on earth, I find that it can be quite a heavy look. So, I teamed my beloved Levi 501s, that were given to me (free!!!) with this lovely Whistles chambray shirt.

I think that the lighter weight of the chambray makes it a lot easier to style and doesn’t make it too overpowering.

I topped off my outfit with my trusty TopShop hat, which I can’t get enough of at the moment. It literally goes with EVERYTHING. And finished the look with my favourite Rimmel lipstick which I posted about a little while ago.

Summer Sunday

Apparently the weather here was warmer then in places like Barcelona! Crazy.

Not only is little Britain doing well with the weather but andy Murray won Wimbledon! We’d only been waiting for that for 77years.
All in all an amazing day.

I spent the day watching the tennis with pimms…naturally. We then went for a lovely walk in the sun and watched some other daring ppl swim in the river.

I thought id share my outfit of the day, especially seeing as this is one of my favourite summer dresses.
What did you all get up to on this fab day?

My summer beauty must haves

Now the sun appears to be staying in place for once, i thought that i would share my favourite summer beauty must haves.

If you are anything like me and are typically British aka: pastey white you will understand my need for fake tan. I am also really rubbish at applying fake tan, so Instead I use a gradual tan moisturiser instead. I have tried countless different ones and this one is by far my favourite. It smells so nice and leaves my skin feeling so soft.

20130604-212006.jpg

I also use Sally Hansen airbrush legs. If you haven’t tried it, you have to. It is so amazing. It’s a bit like foundation for your legs is the only way to describe it. Basically you have to try it. Oh and it smells a bit like doughnuts.

I think that the perfect combo with a nice tan is a deep red nail varnish. I bought this one the other day. It’s from the Barry M gelly range. It’s super duper shiny and the colour goes with everything.

A good daily moisturiser is key anytime of year but even more so in the summer. I have heard so many great things about Nivea but haven’t really ever tried many of their products but this is perfect in my skin. My skin has felt so soft and it has even helped keep it clear and blemish free. It’s such a good staple for everyday and is inexpensive you should definitely try it .

So there we go, they are my summer must haves.

In the summertime when the weather is fine

20130531-233232.jpg

The sun has finally got his hat on…hip hip hip hooray. Sorry couldn’t help myself. I am feeling so jolly now the sun is out, it generally just makes things so much better doesn’t it?!
I was shocked yesterday that I wasn’t for once getting caught in the rain without an umbrella (that has become a very regular occurrence) no, no this time I was caught without my trusty sunglasses.
Which you might think to be not that shocking, but they are usually a permanent fixture on my face, come rain, shine and sometimes complete darkness.
My favourite pair at the moment have to be my audrey cats eye ones from whistles, but I stumbled on these beauties in TopShop and had to snap them up.
I have been looking for some black circular retro style ones for suuuch a long time now.
It always seemed that every time I tried some I would look either like a bug that had not yet been discovered, or like I was wearing some weird swimming goggles. But I have to say, I loved these from the minute I saw them even if I do still look vaguely like a bug wearing swimming goggles?

Bank holiday sun

It WAS sunny and will be again on Friday apparently, sadly until then we will have a week of rain…bummer but at least the bank holiday was nice. What did you all get up to?
I went for a picnic with my friend which was sooo lovely. I actually got sunburnt, I think only the Brits are capable of getting sunburnt in 15 degree heat.

I am a major fan of the pyjama trouser At the moment. They are the most comfy things you will ever wear and are perfect for this sporadic weather we’re having. These ones are by Markus Lupfher for Whistles. I wore them with a simple block colour crop top, as I think you need to go for something simple with a pattern as bright as the hearts on these trousers. I’m always a bit sceptical of crop tops but this one, I’m not ashamed to say, was inspired by a look i saw rihanna wearing. I got it for £2!!! from Primark so thought I’d join in with the cropped thing.

Today I’m wearing

Today I’ve gone for another pyjama style trouser. I really love the slouchy feel and they are the most comfortable trousers you will ever wear. I usually like to wear them with a heel to give it that sports luxe type vibe. Today though, I have gone with my new shoes my friend bought for me from morocco. I posted about them yesterday too. I love them so much and again they are sooo comfy.

I think it must be this muggy weather we’re having but I am really going for the comfort at the moment. So I think these orchid print silk trousers are a perfect mix. I am also surprised to say I am loving the lilac, I think its such a difficult colour to wear, it always reminds me of bad bridesmaids dresses, but this print couldn’t be further from it.

Adding to the whole sports Luxey type thing, I wore my grey sweat top that has really cool quilted shoulders, which I think toughens up the feminine floral print.

I accessorised today with neon pink, diamanté earrings and a chunky silver bangle. I think the pink offsets the trousers nicely and it isn’t too much of a contrast when combined with a muted colour like my grey jumper. I also thought they looked quite cool with my freshly painted nails…still trying to get the hang of the whole nail art/nail pen thing. This is my second attempt, what do you think?

Today I’m wearing

The sun is here! Hopefully it will be here to stay. I have decided to mix a pyjama style trouser with a simple tee today. I am definitely dressing for comfort today, after all that is what Sundays are for.

I love turquoise, blues and greens. In fact, my wardrobe is worryingly merging into one greeny blue rail. So knowing this, I’m sure you’ll understand my big love for these printed trousers I found in the sale at Marks and Spencer’s!? M&S?!

I’m also really loving a good printed T shirt at the moment. I thought this one would be perfect to tone down the brightness of the trouser. It also has a tiny mix of pink in there, which I am surprised to say works quite well with the green. Or does it?

I also have to mention my new shoes my friend recently bought for me from a recent trip to Morocco. Not only do they combine everything I love and want from a summer shoe aka, beading and cross over straps. They came from a really sweet little man that handmade them, apparently he was just like the sweet man Carrie buys her little shoes from in Sex and the City 2 film. Adorable.
