Statement earring

I just had to share these beauts with you. They were one of those accidental/perfect purchases you stumble upon whilst you are wondering the shops when you are supposed to be ‘window shopping’…oops.

I absolutely love the green and gold combo. They are so fun and dressed up my simple tee perfectly! I also think they have quite a vintagey/ retro vibe. Perfection.

Leibster award

So I have been nominated by the very lovely for a Leibster award. Yay is what I have to say, thank you so much I’m really happy my little blog has been recognised.
For those of you that don’t know, the Leibster awards are a really fun thing to help promote new upcoming blogs that have less then 200 followers.

So these are the rules set by the wonderful bloggers before me-

1. Link back to your nominator

2. Answer your Leibster questions given to you.

3. Nominate 10 more blogs that have 200 followers or less.

4. Think of 10 fun questions for them to answer

5. Go to their blogs and pass on the good news glow.

So here goes, these are my answers:

• Chips or crisps?
Definitely chips, in fact any food that you eat with chips is amazing . Fish and chips, burger and chips…case in point.

• mini, midi or maxi?
Midi…I’m not keen on my legs so I never wear mini’s unless I’m wearing tights and I always find I’m a bit too short for maxi’s which can make me look much shorter and heavier then I actually am.

• Summer or Winter?
Hmm In terms of fashion I prefer dressing for winter, I love layering, tights, boots, jumpers…you can understand my love. But, on the other hand I hate the cold, I can’t cope. So in my ideal world it would be lovely weather but everyone is dressed in winter clothes.

• Cats or Dogs
Dogs and cats

• Heels or Flats
Heels no flats, no heels, no flats…both?

I am the only person in the world that doesn’t really understand twitter, Facebook is great for keeping in touch with people, but I probably prefer Instagram, I love photos and find it the most interesting…nice to have a spy on celebs too.

• Boys or girls
I have a mix of boy and girl friends. Much more balanced that way.

• Sequins or fur?
Sequins and fur would be interesting

•Birthdays or Christmas?
Christmas, I love the whole Christmas season rather then just the day.

• What do you want to be when you’re older?
Hmm well I am currently designing and setting up my own sleepwear and loungewear business called LaLaLoula so my aim is to be working full time on that as soon as possible.

So there’s my answers…here are my questions set for my favourite upcoming bloggers 🙂 their links are below, please do check them out and spread the love.

1. Favourite beauty product?
2. Favourite place in the world?
3. What’s your dream job?
4. Lipstick or lipgloss?
5. All time favourite song?
6. Favourite fashion designer?
7. Favourite high street store?
8. Favourite item of clothing in your wardrobe?
9. If you could hop on a plane and fly anywhere in the world where would it be?
10. If you were re-incarnated as animal what would it be?

I think these blogs are great and have duely nominated…

Love double denim

I am loving double denim looks at the moment. For me, being the shortest person on earth, I find that it can be quite a heavy look. So, I teamed my beloved Levi 501s, that were given to me (free!!!) with this lovely Whistles chambray shirt.

I think that the lighter weight of the chambray makes it a lot easier to style and doesn’t make it too overpowering.

I topped off my outfit with my trusty TopShop hat, which I can’t get enough of at the moment. It literally goes with EVERYTHING. And finished the look with my favourite Rimmel lipstick which I posted about a little while ago.

How do you all style double denim?

Shirt- Whistles
Jeans- Levi 501s
Brogues- Zara
Belt- Whistles

Bagels, Bakery, Bath

Last week I went to Bath for a few days for work. It was also great as it meant I was able to stay with my friends that live in the countryside just on the outskirts.
I thought I’d share some pics of my time out and about…

First stop was my favourite vintage shop in Bath. I’m not entirely sure of its name but I like to call it, the yellow shop…because its yellow. I have found some great finds in here. You have to rummage but its definitely worth popping in if you’re visiting.

So this was a complete find as it wasn’t there last time I was in Bath. I cannot stress how amazing this Brownie was. It had a gooey sort of melted warm caramel centre. Literally amazing. Also, check out those meringues!

Lastly, I HAVE to mention this beaut of a place. A work colleague mentioned it and let’s just say, I will be eternally grateful to her! It was THE best bagel I’ve ever eaten.
I had a great time Bath and the weather was amazing, it felt a bit like being on holiday even though I was there for work.

Summer Sunday

Apparently the weather here was warmer then in places like Barcelona! Crazy.

Not only is little Britain doing well with the weather but andy Murray won Wimbledon! We’d only been waiting for that for 77years.
All in all an amazing day.

I spent the day watching the tennis with pimms…naturally. We then went for a lovely walk in the sun and watched some other daring ppl swim in the river.

I thought id share my outfit of the day, especially seeing as this is one of my favourite summer dresses.
What did you all get up to on this fab day?

Dress- Reiss
Necklace- Primark
Bag- Whistles
Shoes- bought in Morocco

Beauty buys

I haven’t blogged for a little while, I’m sorry to say. I have been so busy with work and things so its been tricky to find the time. But, I’m well and truly back to it! Promise.

I thought it would be good to share my most recent favourite beauty purchases.

Firstly, I found this gloss and shine product by Tony and Guy, I have never tried any of their products or had my hair cut with them before so I am only going on hearsay. I’m usually a committed frizz ease customer. I use it as an attempt to make my often, frazzled split ends soft and silky. At nearly £1 cheaper (I know, bargain!) I thought I’d give Tony and Guy a go.

I’m getting on with it quite well. I prefer the smell of the frizz ease one but this is much lighter and it seems to last the whole day without building up, keeping a nice shine all day.

The next one is this nail varnish by Rimmel, colour black cherries. It is a great alternative to a black. that can sometimes be quite harsh. It also picks up on the metallic trends going around at the moment.
I find it perfect with creams and whites. I bought a new cream quilted sweater (I will blog about in the next few days) which I wore with my freshly painted nails today. I think the colour contrast is perfect and adds a subtle pop of colour in a really subtle, soft way. I also love love love the fact that these dry in 60secs! It’s a must have!

Lastly, is the latest addition to my lipstick family. Again, it’s another beauty from our friends at Rimmel.

Even the name is perfection…tantrum.
I was looking for a deep red lipstick, that still has a pinky tone as I find my complexion best suits the pinker tones. I find it is far less harsh. This one lasts almost the entire day, which is amazing as I almost always have to constantly top up with other brands I’ve tried.

So there we have it, my most recent beauty buys.
